We are constantly overwhelmed by social media, which paints a picture of amazing women who effortlessly achieve their career goals, keep the house immaculate, and maintain a perfect healthy eating and gym schedule. All while keeping their husbands happy and their families fulfilled.

Is this humanly possible? Well, I’m not so sure. What I do know is that much of what we see online isn’t entirely or necessarily true. We need to learn how to filter it and find our own sense of work-life balance to achieve our career and personal goals without leading to burnout or depression from a certain pursuit of perfection. This is where slow living becomes a gateway to a more purposeful and gentle life.

  • Practice mindful consumption. Before you buy something, ask yourself: do I truly need this? Does it bring me joy or a sense of peace?
  • Single-task instead of multitasking. Focus on one thing at a time, whether it’s washing the dishes or working on a project. This helps you be more present and productive without feeling rushed.
